Saturday will be our 30th day of Junior Tournament Golf in 2024 and our second visit in 2024 to this popular Winter Garden venue. Hosting Junior golf tournaments is important to them and we do hope this one can become a regular venue on our annual rota each year.

Below this message you will find individual player tee times, pairings, yardages and player flight/group info for Day 1 of this competition. Day 2 tee times will be emailed to you on Saturday evening and pairings will be revised based on scores achieved after the first day of play. Our first tee time on Saturday, and on Sunday, will be 12.00 Pm sharp and all play will start on Hole 1. It’s extremely important that ALL players are at the tee and ready to play 10 minutes before your tee time for player introductions and a short local rule briefing. This tournament is an 36-hole stroke play event which will be ranked by iWanamaker rankings and Junior Golf Scoreboard. REGISTRATION: On arrival please check in with Fiona at our Claret Tour Registration area which is situated adjacent to the practice area. Registration will be open from 10.30 am. Fiona will confirm your tee time and on course contact info. It is essential that we have a contact number for every player out on the course for safety reasons and in the event, we need to message you in case of emergency or to advise of any incoming weather issues that may force you to take temporary shelter. The weather at this time of the year can be unpredictable so please be prepared for it as much as possible. Please be assured player safety is always our top priority and, if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments, to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text and sound one long blast of the air horn to stop play. Should this be necessary please observe this safety request immediately. A failure for any member to stop play when advised to do so will result in disqualification from this tournament.

We will have a limited supply of water available, for players, on the 1st tee. It is advisable to ensure you have with you an additional supply of water, energy drinks and snacks.

GOLF CARTS: A rental cart has been included for each player. Please check in first and do NOT load up or remove a cart until AFTER you have checked in as we may be required to issue carts in tee time order. Once ALL players have their carts there MAY be additional carts for spectators. If they have them the spectator rate is $35 plus tax. Junior Players who wish to drive a golf cart MUST be in possession of a valid Driver’s License to do so. Younger players can be driven by a parent/ coach or adult caddie.

CADDIES: Please note caddies are only permitted at our tour events for players up to age 15. Caddies for aged 16+ players are not permissible at any of our tournaments. Caddies must observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed.

SCORING: It is a requirement that ALL players official tournament scoring is recorded by you using the CJGT online scoring app. If you are attending your first CJGT event you MUST download the app by searching for CJGT in your app store and then register as a junior golfer and in player’s name. Please do not register as a parent or spectator as this will lock you out of the ability to score and take you to a payment page for viewing scores only. Only players registered correctly have full FREE access to the scoring app and it is therefore extremely important that you register as a player. Once you have the app, and you are registered correctly, you can then search for the tournament. All official scoring for this tournament must be input into the app on a hole-by-hole basis.

We will also request that you keep and complete a paper scorecard. The paper card is useful as a backup only and to do a double check of scores if any discrepancies are found in the app however ONLY the scores you enter into the app, verified as accurate, by player and scorer will be accepted. Following Day 1 play we require EVERY player to confirm that they agree with the score showing in the CJGT app BEFORE you leave the venue. Any player who leaves the venue before providing agreement of the accuracy of his/her score will be withdrawn from further participation in this tournament.

Please remember the accuracy of your score is always YOUR responsibility. If another member of the group, you are playing with agrees to submit everyone’s scores into the app it is still YOUR responsibility to check these scores are input correctly with him/her BEFORE they are finally submitted at the end of play. When you open the app you will see that all players are already loaded in tee time format. The app is easy to use however, if you do need any assistance, please reach out to us in advance of play and, ideally NOT on the day of play, as iWanamaker, who provide the app and support, cannot always guarantee to resolve issues on weekend tournament days. NEAREST the PIN: As an additional fun and competitive element at our tournaments we offer a Nearest the Pin Competition open to all players. We will offer a gift card prize from our sponsor, Edwin Watts Golf, for the player closest to the pin on Saturday and again on Sunday. We will provide a marker stake alongside the green. If you are close, check the sheet on the stake for earlier players measurements. If you think you are closer measure the distance from middle of the hole to the center of your ball using the tape provided. Always measure with the help of at least one other player in your group. If your ball is closest write your name and measurement. The measurement should be in feet/inches. Tomorrow the hole used for the competition will be number 16.

AWARDS: All tournament awards will be presented on Sunday. All players have been grouped into age-based player flights and a CJGT winner’s medal will be presented to the lowest scoring player in each flight group only. Awards will be made as each age-based flight finishes in order to get everyone heading for home as soon as we can following play.

In addition to flight winner medals, we may also make special player award(s) to qualifying players of an FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Award for use in your choice of an FJT Tournament in the next 12 months. Following final day play and, in the event of a tied score in any player flight, extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner. The number of holes will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached players are still tied the play off will be decided on the putting green area. As each flight group finishes, we will conduct award/medal presentations by the main scoreboard area.
