Good evening everyone and Thank You to ALL of our players today for giving your best on Day 1 of this Eagle Ridge GC 36 Hole Challenge. We watched a lot of great golf from so many of you and tomorrow in the final round EVERY player has something to play for! When we tee off tomorrow every one of you has the same goal in mind and that’s to do better than today so regardless of whether you are in contention for a win or not it’s another opportunity to develop and improve your game and your Day 1 score. To do so takes character and resilience and, knowing many of you as we do, that’s NOT something we are short of on our tour so good luck everyone!
Tee times and pairings, based on day 1 scores are below and at this stage nothing has been decided and most flights are still open to a change at the top of the leaderboard. Tomorrow, in an effort to get you all heading for home at a reasonable time, we will present awards as player flights finish.
Usually at this halfway stage we don’t spend too much time talking about individual scores for obvious reasons however on this occasion it would be wrong NOT to mention our tournament low scorer today! David Cochran (Lutz,FL) was exceptional today shooting 35-31-66. That included a finishing run of 5 consecutive birdies! We know this young man pretty well and what makes his performance today even more remarkable is David is returning to tournament golf after a 6-month long wrist injury! So what made his round so special today? Listen up junior golfers everywhere, as he began his recuperation and fight back to full fitness his practice regime was ALL about his short game , he spent practically all of his time putting, particularly 4ft/6ft drills and chipping! Great insight right there for junior golfers everywhere…welcome back David and congratulations on an exquisite round of golf!
