The Phillips Toyota Junior Open Championship 2024

Good evening players and parents.

We would like to extend our thanks to ALL of our players today for their efforts as we played out an exciting opening day of our annual sponsors tournament, The Phillips Toyota Junior Open Championship.

After a great day of golf our leaderboards make for some exciting reading with ALL four flights still there to be won. Most of the age groups are VERY close, within a shot or two, with only one flight, our 16+ BOYS showing more than that with our tournament leader and lowest scorer, Sebastian Gonzalez, 5 clear of the closest challenger. That lead is courtesy of a stunning round of golf from Sebastian that contained no less than 7 birdies AND an Eagle in a blistering -7(65) Congratulations Sebastian on a great round of golf!

Back to business for everyone tomorrow as we are only at the halfway stage so no one has won anything yet! Regardless of whether you are playing tomorrow to improve your personal score or to take home a prize good luck to all players tomorrow! Tee times are listed below. Once again we will begin at 11.56 but this time the rotation goes from Fox Run to Stirrup Cup. Check in as usual with Fiona anytime from 10am…and don’t forget at check in to submit your name and entry for our Masters Merchandise Raffle and pick up your own small Masters gift from us!

As usual on your 36th and final hole of the day you can enjoy a little of the heritage and history of our great sport as our resident bagpiper and drummer duo, Paul and Kevin, pipe you into the closing hole of the tournament.

Shortly after at around 5pm we will begin our prize giving ceremony and of course, as well as flight winner award prizes there will be day on day most improved award, a total birdie count award, two nearest the pin awards AND we will draw our Masters Merchandise Raffle Winner too! Finally we will present The Claret Jug to our Phillips Toyota Junior Open Champion 2024. We know many of you have journeys ahead of you so please rest assured we will always try to carry out these awards as quickly as we can.
