You are heading for The Southern Oaks GC ProShop where you will check in at our registration desk and then pay for golf cart (if required). 

Venue Info:Southern Oaks GC (352-753-6740) 766 Marilee Place, The Villages, 32163. The venue is adjacent to the Sawgrass Grove Entertainment and Dining Area of The Villages. As you approach and when you see the large RED barn park as close to it as possible and head for the Pro Shop.

**IMPORTANT NOTE** There will be no access to a driving range at Southern Oaks tomorrow. The venue does have several putting areas and driving nets by the first tee area. If you do require driving range access prior to play the closest is at The Sarasota Practice Area which is around 10 minutes’ drive from Southern Oaks. At tomorrow’s tournament we are also being joined by 5 young visiting juniors, aged 9/15, and their coaches from China. We have mixed a few of our player groups to ensure they are able to play alongside some of you. If you are playing with them or see them on the course tomorrow please join with us in making them feel really welcome on their first international visit to play golf with us.

Below this message you will find individual tee times, pairings, yardages and flight info for tomorrow’s competition. We will commence play at 11.00 AM on hole number 1. Please arrive in good time and ALWAYS be at the tee at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tee time.

It is important that all players check in on arrival with Fiona at our Golfer Registration Desk beside the Pro Shop.. When you arrive it’s important to check that we have the correct phone number for you in the event that we need to contact you with a weather text message or relay important info while you are out on the course. It’s extremely important to note that if your contact number is NOT the one you used on the Player Registration Form please advise Fiona at check-in.

Rental carts are available for players if required and will be issued from the ProShop after you have checked in with us. Rentals are $25 plus sales tax. What does the new golf cart law require?

Florida residents who are 18 or younger must obtain a learner’s permit or driver’s license before they may legally drive a golf cart.

Florida residents older than 18 must carry a state-issued ID while operating one.

If you prefer to walk, with trolley or without, you are always free to do so at all of our tournaments. If you do choose this option please remember that it is extremely important every player maintains a good pace of play.

Please note caddies are only permitted at our tour events for junior golfers aged 16 and under. Caddies MUST observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed. If your group falls behind play, we will request you play “Ready Golf” in order to keep pace with the group in front. Electronic devices to assist with yardages are also acceptable for use at this competition.

This single day competition will be ranked by GJGR. (Global Junior Golf Rankings) and scoring will only be accepted by inputting scores into our dedicated online scoring app, which can be downloaded from your online app store by searching for CJGT. You will find that the player tee times as shown below have been loaded in the app already.

Official scoring will ONLY be accepted via the online app. While we no longer swap paper scorecards, we do ask that you keep a paper scorecard record which can be used as a backup to refer to should any discrepancies or errors be made in the app. If using the scoring app for the first time, you will first have to register AS a PLAYER/JUNIOR GOLFER (Do Not Register as a Parent or Spectator) in the app which you must do USING THE PLAYERS NAME and EMAIL ADDRESS. You can then search for tomorrow’s competition in the Find an Event area where you will find the full list of players and tee times pre-loaded.

Scoring via the app is a simple process but if you do need any assistance please ask prior to play and we will be happy to help. Please bear in mind that YOUR score on each hole is always YOUR responsibility even if you are not the person within your group who is inputting it to the app. We always suggest that you double check it has been entered correctly before you finalize it on 18. If you do notice ANY discrepancy, please bring it to our attention immediately.

As always, as an additional exciting and fun element, we will also be operating a nearest-the-pin competition tomorrow, sponsored by Edwin Watts Golf, for all players, with a giftcard prize provided, by the sponsor, for the winner. Tomorrow we will use Hole 17 as the location.

Please make your way to the 1st tee 10 minutes before play where we will provide a short briefing to players on any local rules that may apply to this competition. See also local rules we have added in the app.

Weather text service: Please rest assured player safety is always our priority and if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text. Please consult the forecast prior to play and ensure you are prepared, as much as possible, for fast-changing weather conditions. During the last few days most afternoons the forecast has shown the possibility of some rain and/or thunderstorms so please be prepared for it. IMPORTANT: For your safety we monitor Lightning strikes in the area during all tournaments and we stop play immediately if lightning is detected at 5 miles or less.

Tomorrow is also forecast to be HOT so please bring food and plenty of water and stay hydrated at all times. We will provide water, for players only,on the first and 10th tee.

Following play tomorrow, and as player flights finish, we will compile scores and conduct brief medal presentations where our lowest scoring player in each player flight, and our nearest the pin winner, will receive medal awards.

We try to conduct these presentations as quickly as we can to ensure you are not waiting around too much but we, and our players, do always appreciate your sportsmanship and support by attending if you possibly can.
