Thank you all for another exciting Championship Day of golf at Glenview Champions CC in The Villages. Well done to all of those who played and gave their best in exceptionally warm and draining conditions! Thankfully most groups got around the Talley Ho and Fox Run courses quickly and we are hoping for similar again tomorrow.

There is still a great deal to play for in all age group player flights after Day One. Scores have been really strong with almost half of the players participating shooting 80 or less. The lowest scoring/ flight leading players after Day one are Harper Zhai (70) and Katie Yang (70) who hold the joint lead in our Eden Ladies Flight, Dax Becker (71) in our Old Course 16+ Boys, David Cochran (73) in our New Course, 12 and under Boys, and Braxton Williams in our Jubilee Course 13/15 Boys. Well done to each of you but remember these are Day 1 scores and the job is only half done as there are numerous players looking to move up that leader board in tomorrow’s final day!

Tomorrow afternoon when play is complete we will gather to present all of our lowest scorers with award medals and commemorative plates. Our lowest overall scorer will also be presented with our unique Claret Jug Trophy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please also be aware that we have requested the venue try harder tomorrow to ensure players get carts in a more timely manner. Today was NOT perfect and it was a very unusual situation for us as normally this venue bring additional carts in to accommodate the numbers we advise we will be bringing. On this occasion they did not do this and some of you were delayed in getting a cart. We have been told tomorrow should be slightly better but please remember that our policy at this venue is that all players who intend driving a cart or being driven by a parent/coach etc. get priority to rent them before spectators. Where possible please arrive in good time to rent a cart if you need one and if you are a player who intends driving you MAY be asked to produce your drivers licence before you get one.
