Good evening everyone and thank you for your support, and your patience, today as we played out day one of our 36-Hole Challenge at Ocala Golf Club. A 45-minute delay at Ocala GC due to an earlier frost (!!) was not the ideal start to the day for us! Happily though, despite the delay, every group managed to finish in good time and before we had to be concerned about losing daylight.

There is still lots to play for across all of the age groups tomorrow. In the 16+ Flight it’s Gordon Goetz (77) who holds the first day lead spot but Nathan Hillan (80) and EJ Maupin (81) are lurking close by in this one. The 13/15’s are also creating an exciting final day for us with Zach Phan and Asher Katz both in the hunt for top spot having both recorded 76 in day one. For the girls Katie Yang is once again showing strong form and recorded a very impressive 75 in today’s tricky conditions.

Top score of the day overall, and holding an impressive day one lead of 14 strokes in his player flight, (12 and under) is the younger of our two Goetz brothers, Grant. A hugely impressive 4 birdies and an EAGLE propelled him to the top spot with a tournament best ever of 70! Great work Grant!
