We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all to Eagle Ridge GC in Summerfield tomorrow for our first 36-Hole Challenge Tournament of Season 2024. Tomorrow’s Venue information, including full address, can be found by clicking HERE

Eagle Ridge GC is our host venue for our first round of 18 holes tomorrow. On Sunday we will complete our final round of play in this unique “combination” Challenge at Harbor Hills CC in Lady Lake and, following the conclusion of the first round of play on Saturday evening, we will email you with all of the necessary information you will need for joining us at Harbor Hills on Sunday.

Please note that tomorrow we will begin play at 11.50 AM and our course rotation at Eagle Ridge GC will see us begin play on The Champions Course. We will finish tomorrow on The Heritage Course.   Below this message you will find your player tee times, yardages and information for Day 1 of this competition.

It is important that all players check in on arrival with Fiona at our Golfer Registration Desk. Registration will be open from 9.45 am. We do need to know you have arrived with us and if any changes are necessary, we will communicate these to you at that stage. Range tokens will also be issued to players at check-in by Fiona. It’s also extremely important to check that we have the correct phone number on file for you in the event that we need to contact you urgently while you are on the course.

Carts are available for rent for all players via the Pro Shop (remember you MUST be 15 or older, and in possession of a driver’s license, to drive a cart…it’s the LAW!) Cost to rent is $25 plus tax. Please note at all Claret Junior Tour competitions we are happy for players to use carts (age 15+ with a valid driver’s license/permit) OR if younger with a parent or guardian to drive alongside them. If you prefer to walk during competition play this is also acceptable. Whichever option you take, please remember that it is extremely important EVERY player maintains a good pace of play.

Please note caddies are also permitted at our tournament events for players up to the age of 15 only. Caddies MUST comply with USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed. If your group falls behind play, we will request you play quicker, if a second request is necessary, we will request you play “Ready Golf”. If a single individual player is causing a pace of play issue and the player or group has been advised already, we will monitor and if necessary, add penalty stroke(s) for further instances of slow play. Electronic devices that assist with yardages are also acceptable for use at this competition.

This competition will be ranked by iWanamaker rankings and by JGS. (Junior Golf Scoreboard). Official scoring will only be accepted by inputting scores into our dedicated online scoring app which can be downloaded from your online app store by searching for CJGT. You will find that your player info and tee times as shown below have been pre-loaded in the app already.

If you are using the CJGT scoring app for the first time, you will first have to register. Please do so USING THE PLAYERS NAME EXACTLY AS IT WAS ENTERED WHEN YOU REGISTERED WITH US FOR THE EVENT.  Registration for players is always FREE. **IMPORTANT NOTE ** If you are a parent and registering a player please register in the player’s name, use the players email wherever possible and click on the box that asks if you are a junior golfer. If you do not follow this instruction and you click the parent/spectator box, you will be taken to a pay screen and your player will lose access to scoring. Once you are registered you can then search for this competition in the Find an Event area where you will find the full list of players and tee times.

Once players are registered, scoring via the app is a simple process but if you do need any assistance please ask prior to play and we will be happy to help. Please bear in mind that YOUR score on each hole is ultimately YOUR responsibility even if you are not the person within your group who is inputting it to the app. We always suggest that you double check it has been entered correctly before you finalize it on the final hole. If you do notice ANY discrepancy, please bring it to our attention immediately.

As always, we will be operating a nearest-the-pin competition on Saturday and another on Sunday, sponsored by Edwin Watts Golf, with a gift card prize from our sponsor for the player who hits it closest. On Saturday number 11 (Heritage Course) will be used. All reporting of this additional competition will be done manually at this time. If you hit it close, you can check the stake provided to see if you are closest at that stage. If you are, measure the distance and write your name on the sheet on the stake. The final group to play will be asked to bring the stake back to the clubhouse once they have completed the hole.

Please make your way to the 1st tee of The Champions Course 10 minutes before play where we will provide a short briefing to players on any local rules that may apply to this competition. On this occasion we will also supply you with a tournament rules sheet at registration.

Weather text service: Please rest assured player safety is always our priority and if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text so please keep your phone handy at all times. Please ensure you are prepared, as much as possible, for fast-changing weather conditions. Saturday forecast suggests cloudy conditions and pleasant temperatures but please always check the forecast hasn’t changed before you leave for the golf course,

Following play tomorrow, we will confirm and agree scores in the CJGT app with you. Once that’s completed you are good to head for home once you have returned your golf cart. Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday following final day of play at Harbor Hills CC.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING AWARD of FSGA/FJT STEP EXEMPTIONS to PLAYERS: 

On Sunday following play, in addition to medal awards for lowest scoring players in each flight, we will also award FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Awards to our lowest scoring players in the age-based flights, 13/15 and 16+. Please note STEP Exemption Awards can only be earned by players who hold current annual membership status of Claret Junior Tour PRIOR to the tournament beginning. No awards will be made to players who do not meet this requirement.
