Good afternoon everyone

We would like to thank you for your player entry for Sunday’s Claret Junior Tour competition at The Legends at Orange Lake. We are delighted to now announce tee times, pairings, player tee boxes, yardages and player flights. This is an 18-hole stroke play event which will be ranked by GJGR (Global Junior Golf Rankings)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL PLAYERS/PARENTS:

Please note that there are two golf courses at Orange Lake Golf. The Legends course and The Reserve course. On Sunday we will play The Legends Course however due to some construction work taking place close to the property the practice range at The Legends is temporarily closed. We are therefore going to meet and check in ALL players at The Reserve course where you will be able to warm up and complete your pre-round practice on their range which remains fully open. Therefore we would ask everyone to head to The Reserve and park in the area directly behind The Marketplace where we will check you in and advise where to practice/warm up.  NO golf carts will be issued at the Reserve.We will also advise further information on when you should head to The Legends by car. The travel time between each venue is around 10 minutes.

On arrival at The Legends course: For this tournament a golf cart rental has been included for all players. Carts will be issued to players, if old enough to drive, or to parents of younger players at The Legends course. Carts will have your name on them and be issued in tee time priority order. Please do not take a cart that does not have your name on it.

Registration (The Reserve)  will be open from 9.45 am. Fiona will confirm your tee time and on course contact info is correct. A limited number of spectator rental carts MAY be available ($25 plus tax) however these can only be allocated once all players have been allocated their cart.

First tee time on Saturday will be 12.06pm and groups will depart at 8-minute intervals. It is important that all players make their way to the tee 10 minutes before play for player introductions and a short local rules briefing.

Caddies are permitted for this event. Electronic devices which assist with yardages are also permitted. Slope rating on any electronic device should be turned OFF.

It is essential that we have a contact number for every player out on the course for safety reasons and in the event we need to message you in case of emergency or to advise of any incoming weather issues that may force you to take temporary shelter. As the weather right now can be unpredictable please be prepared for it.

We will provide water on the 1st tee for players only. Please bring additional snacks and water with you and keep hydrated at all times during the competition.

It is a condition of our tournaments that ALL official player scoring is made by using our dedicated CJGT golf online scoring app. If you are attending your first Claret Junior Tour event please download the scoring app by searching your app store for CJGT and then register AS A JUNIOR GOLFER using the PLAYER NAME and ADDING HIS/HER EMAIL ADDRESS. The app is free for players to use but NOT free for spectators so it is extremely important that you register your player correctly. You will be able to then search for the event (The Claret Junior Tour at The Legends) and you will see that all players are already loaded in tee time format. The app is very easy to use and if you do need any assistance please speak with a member of staff in advance of play tomorrow. The app you need to download looks like this:

We do suggest that you keep and complete an additional paper card for your own use. The paper card is only necessary if anything goes wrong with the app and if it is necessary to do a double check of scores if any issues arise following play. ONLY the scores you enter into the app will be accepted and counted.

Please note, as an additional fun element to this tournament we will be offering all players the opportunity to play a Nearest The Pin competition. Closest player to the pin on number 12 tomorrow will win an Edwin Watts Golf Gift Card which will be presented at the end of the competition.Finally, please remember as players, YOUR score is always YOUR own personal responsibility! If another member of the group you are playing with agrees to submit everyone’s scores into the app this is acceptable on agreement of all players however it is still YOUR responsibility to check these scores are input correctly with him/her BEFORE they are finally submitted after 18 holes have been completed.

All players have now been grouped into flights/groups and all players have been allocated an appropriate age-based yardage/tee box. A Claret Junior Tour winner’s medal will be presented to the lowest scoring player in each flight. If necessary extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner and the number of holes will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached if players are still tied the winning medalist will be decided by a chip-off at an agreed green side area.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING PLAYER YARDAGES:

Please be advised that we set player yardages based on player age. On some occasions we are asked by player/parent or coach to INCREASE a player’s total yardage. We fully understand that some players may prefer to play from further back and we are happy to support these requests as long as they are made prior to arrival on the first tee. All requests MUST be made at Player Check-In stage or earlier. Requests must be made by either Player, Parent or Coach. Under no circumstances will we consider player requests to play shorter yardages than those we have set.

As each flight group finishes we will have a brief medal presentation at a convenient area close to the finishing hole. Please show good golf etiquette and support all of the medal winners at the presentation of the flight you are competing in if you are able to stay and do so.
