Good afternoon everyone and thank you for your player registration for this weekend’s Junior Golf Scoreboard and GJGR ranked 36-hole stroke play event at Harbor Hills Country Club in Lady Lake, Fl. This weekend will be our 2023 Season Tournament Days 13/14 and we are pleased to be returning to this great Lady Lake venue which is always in great all-round condition.

Please note that our registration area beside the club shop entrance will open from 10.45 am tomorrow and same on Sunday morning. Every player must check in with Fiona who will provide information regarding your tee time, the golf cart collection procedure and get an on-course contact number from you. Please note it is vital that we have your contact number correct as we are now in the part of the season when weather can change quickly and be extremely unpredictable. If we need to stop play immediately for safety reasons we need to ensure we can message you and/or your group to advise you of this quickly. Once check in is complete players can head to the range and practice areas. Range balls will be available for players warm up. Please do NOT take a golf cart from the line under any circumstances until advised to do so. We will advise when to make your way to the cart collection area and we will all head out to the golf course in a group once all players are assembled.

This 36-Hole tournament is going to be a little different from our normal tournament events. The first important thing to note is that we are planning on a shotgun start for all players. We will ALL commence play at 1pm and begin from holes 10 through 18. Most groups this weekend are made up of 4 players. Below this email you will find player pairings and tee box allocations AND the hole number YOU and your group will begin from. On this occasion the pairings and shotgun start holes will be the same for both days. Please note this change will mean you will have to be prepared and ready to head out to your allocated start point earlier than your tee time. We will advise you when and where to collect your cart at check in on both days.

For this tournament and specifically to help with pace of play we request that EVERY player uses a golf cart. All players aged 15 and above will share a golf cart with another player in his/her group. All younger players, as normal can be driven by a parent/coach or caddie. Please note that we have been advised by Harbor Hills Management that spectator carts cannot be guaranteed and therefore if you are planning on following a group it MAY be necessary for you to do so on foot. Spectator carts, if there are any, will only be offered to spectators once all player requirements for carts have been met. We are sorry if this is inconvenient but on this occasion the venue are providing this information to us to pass along to you.

Please note that the weather forecast for tomorrow suggests warm conditions with a risk of isolated thunderstorms later in the afternoon. Please bear in mind that conditions can change quickly and come prepared. Please bring water and snacks for on-course. It is important that you stay hydrated and energized to be in a position to play your best possible golf.

PLAYER SCORING :

ALL player scoring tomorrow will be done online using our dedicated scoring app. Please note using this app is a condition of the competition and no other form of scoring is acceptable, please search in your phone’s app store for CJGT and download it. IMPORTANT : If you are using the app for the first time you will need to download and register using the PLAYER’s NAME and email address if he/she has one, if not use your own email but please register under the players name only. The app is always free for players to use so when you are first registering and you are asked if you are a junior golfer or a parent/spectator  under NO circumstance should you click on parent/spectator when registering a player. If you do you will be asked to pay a subscription fee by iWanamaker the app provider. Please complete the process of registration before you arrive at the venue and if you do need help please ask when you check in.

Once registered you will find all of the pairings are already pre-loaded. Recording a player score is a simple process once you begin play however please ask …and don’t forget to charge your phone!

Please note that using the app for scoring is a condition of this competition and no other form of scoring is acceptable. We do advise, in case of any issues arising with online scoring, that you also keep a note of scores using a manual scorecard, this is also useful later as, occasionally, errors can happen when scores are input and a manual record serves to help rectify things later if it becomes necessary.

We have also loaded our “Nearest the pin” competition , sponsored by Edwin Watts Golf at Lady Lake who provide our giftcard prize, into the app. Nearest The Pin on both days is number 8.

Following play tomorrow we will confirm your Day 1 scores are correct with you and at that stage you can head for home. On Saturday evening we will send you an update email with scores from Day one and confirming that Sunday pairings, Start Hole and Tee Box allocations  are correct.
