Please find below a full listing of Saturday’s tee times, pairings, yardages and flight info by player. First tee time is 11.56am Saturday and Registration (by the Pro Shop) will be open from 9.45 am.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all at Glenview Champions for Day 1 of what promises to be an exciting weekend of junior golf competition. As you will see from the attached tee sheet we have a full and strong field of players for this event and, as a result, each age group flight (12 and under, 13’s, 14/15 Boys and 16+Boys) looks very open and competitive.

On Sunday afternoon one player from each age group flight will be presented with a Claret Junior Tour Flight Winners medal and special recognition award. In addition to being a Flight winner, one junior player, the overall competition low scorer regardless of age, will receive the additional accolade of becoming our Phillips Toyota Junior Open Champion 2023 and he or she will be presented with the unique Claret Jug Glass Trophy that comes with the win.

In addition to the above we will provide each of the lowest scoring flight winners, who hold membership status of our tour, with an FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Award which will be credited to you to assist in gaining entry to a future FJT event of your choice. please note that STEP Exemptions will only be issued to players aged 13 and above as FSGA/FJT rules state that the use of a STEP Exemption can only be made by junior players aged 13 or older.

In addition to these awards/prizes it gives us great pleasure to announce that our Family Sponsor, Phillips Toyota (Tony Viero), have very kindly provided additional awards of Edwin Watts Golf Store Gift Cards and these will also be awarded after 36 holes of play to our lowest scorer in each player flight as follows AND to our nearest the pin competition winners on Saturday and Sunday.

The Old Course Flight (16+) lowest scorer will receive additional $100 prize in Giftcards

The Jubilee Course Flight (14/15) lowest scorer will receive additional $50 in Giftcards

The Eden Course Flight (13’s) lowest scorer will receive $50 in Giftcards

Nearest the Pin Winner on Saturday and Winner on Sunday will each receive $50 in Giftcards

IMPORTANT NOTE – SCORING FOR ALL PLAYERS :

Without exception ALL player scoring over both rounds of play MUST be input via our online scoring APP which is named CJGT and should be downloaded in advance of arrival at the venue from your phone’s APP store.  Please note the app, if you haven’t already got it, looks like this in the app store:

Please ensure you have downloaded it in advance and you have registered (in the player’s name only, do NOT register as a parent or spectator) which ensures full FREE access to this event.

You can then search for the event (The Phillips Toyota Junior Open) by date, and you will find all of the player tee times and pairings for Round 1 have already been pre-loaded. Round 2 will be loaded following play on Saturday and a message issued to you via email on Saturday evening with Sunday tee times and revised pairings based on round 1 scores. Recording a player score in the app is a simple process which should be done once play of each hole is concluded. If you are unsure about scoring please talk to a member of staff if you need any assistance…and please don’t forget to charge your phone!

PLEASE NOTE THIS ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT NOTE on SCORING:

As mentioned above using the app for scoring is a condition of this competition. On this occasion we will also issue paper scorecards to all players at this event and we request that these also be completed. Before any score is input into the app we require you to advise the score you have had on each hole to your playing partners. At the end of each day’s play we ask that you agree scores together as a group and, once agreed, you hand in your paper scorecards to us before you depart. We require all players to agree to this scoring system/format prior to the beginning of play. If any player fails to record scores in the app and on a paper scorecard their score will not be counted in this event.

All players have been grouped into the age-based flights and players will play from appropriate age-based yardages which are shown below. After 36 holes are completed and, if it becomes necessary as a result of two or more players in a flight recording the same 36-hole score, extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner and the number of holes and course used will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached players are still tied the winning medalist will be decided by a chip-off or by putting at an agreed green or practice area.

Caddies ARE permitted for this event and USGA caddie rules will apply at all times. Electronic devices which assist with yardages are also permitted for this event.

It is essential that we have a valid contact number for every player out on the course for safety reasons and/or in the event we need to message you for any reason during play. Please check with Fiona at our player registration desk to ensure we have your contact number correct.

We will provide water on the 1st tee and 10th tee. There are some water cooler stations on the course but just to ensure you stay fully hydrated please do bring extra water and food and snacks with you.

Please note that players at this event can choose to walk or ride in carts. Players with a driver’s license can rent and drive or younger players can ride with parent/coach or caddie. On arrival, if you do intend renting a cart, please head to the ProShop and advise that you are playing in this tournament.  Rental carts are NOT included in the entry cost for this event and can be paid inside the Pro Shop ($25+ tax) Please note that cart staff at Glenview are instructed to ensure that players who are renting carts receive them ahead of spectators. We request that all players take responsibility for ensuring they maintain a good pace of play. This applies to all players regardless of walking or riding in carts. On Saturday and Sunday we will have volunteers assisting us and part of their role will be to help monitor pace of play and advise where gaps between groups may have formed. If it is required we will request that you pick up the pace and keep up with the group ahead of you.

As soon as possible on arrival please check in at our “Golfer Registration” area which is located by the Pro Shop and register your arrival with Fiona who will confirm your tee time and give information regarding practice facilities. Please also collect your player gift from Fiona at registration. Range balls will be laid out for players to warm up in our dedicated area on the practice ground when you arrive. Please only use the designated bays that have been allocated to us at the driving range.

Please make your way to the 1st tee no later than 10 minutes before your tee time to allow for a short local rule briefing and introduction, if necessary, to your playing partner(s)

Following play tomorrow we will update Day 1 scores in the player registration area. This is a convenient spot as its close to the 18th hole and alongside the cart return area. There will be no award recognition ceremony on Saturday, and you are free to leave once your Day 1 round is complete however please do not leave until you have agreed scores with your playing partners are correct and your scorecard and the app show the correct score. You can then hand in your scorecards to a member of staff.

As quickly as we can on Saturday evening, we will update all the player placings after Day 1 and load Day 2 Tee times and pairings into the CJGT golf app for you to view. If we have additional info to pass to you, we will also email that to you. Sunday start times are also from 11.56 and we anticipate the awards ceremony will take place around 5.30 or once all players have completed 36 holes.

This tournament will attract ranking points from both Junior Golf Scoreboard and Global Junior Golf Rankings. All ranking submissions are subject to the criteria set by JGS and GJGR. If you have questions relating to rankings please refer questions to info@claretjuniortour.com or discuss prior to play beginning at the event.
