Good afternoon everyone and thank you for your player registration for tomorrow’s GJGR ranked 18-hole strokeplay event at Harbor Hills Country Club in Lady Lake, Fl. This will be our Season 2022 Tournament number 9 and we are pleased to say we have an impressive field of players joining us across all age groups tomorrow.
Tee times for all players are listed below this important info.
Tee times will begin at 1.15pm. Please note that due to the strong possibility of some rain in the area tomorrow we MAY be given the option of playing a little earlier. IF this is possible, and only if players are present and in agreement to do so, we will take advantage of this.
On arrival at Harbor Hills CC please head to the marked “Golfer Registration” area beside the ProShop and register your arrival with Fiona. Registration will be open from 11.00 am. Fiona will confirm your tee time and confirm if your golf cart is available at that stage. Please do NOT take a cart until you have checked in with Fiona first. Note to Players; If you have not paid in advance for a rental cart and you would like one please do so via Fiona at Registration ($20 per cart by cash or card)
At all Claret Junior Tour events players can choose to ride, with parent/caddie/coach, or alone if old enough and with a driving permit, or walk while competing in our tournament events. Players will be reminded that pace of play is critical to any successful tournament and all players should therefore play as briskly and efficiently as possible.
Note to Spectators: Please note that spectator carts, where available, should be requested only after players have received carts. Spectator cart fees should be paid directly to Harbor Hills in the ProShop.
Range balls will already be out and available for players warm up. The practice range is to the right hand side of the first tee. Please make your way to the 1st tee no later than 10 minutes before your own tee time to allow for a short local rules briefing and introduction to your playing partner(s)
Please note that the forecast for tomorrow suggests we will experience some rain. PLEASE be prepared for it. Temperatures remain high and as usual forecasts seem to vary on the severity of the rainfall and exactly when it’s going to be at its worst.
Player and Spectator Safety is ALWAYS of paramount importance to our tour and, if it becomes necessary at any stage, to delay/shelter we will text each playing group and ask you to do so. We request your understanding that any decision we make is first and foremost always about player safety and not necessarily going to be driven by the course conditions. We have been in contact with Harbor Hills today and they anticipate the golf course to be fully open for play as normal. Should anything change before play tomorrow we will advise by email.
ALL player scoring tomorrow will be done online using the iWanamaker scoring app. Please search in your phone’s app store for iWanamaker and download it. Here’s what the app logo looks like:
Once downloaded you can then search for our event named The Claret Junior Tour at Harbor Hills CC you will need to register using the PLAYER’s NAME and email address if he/she has one, if not use your own email but please register under the players name only.
Once registered you will find all of the pairings are already pre-loaded. Recording a player score is a simple process once you begin play however please ask tomorrow if you need any assistance…and don’t forget to charge your phone!
Please note that using the app for scoring is a condition of this competition and no other form of scoring is acceptable. It is also advisable that, in case of any issues arising with online scoring, that you also keep a note of scores using a manual scorecard, this is also useful later as, occasionally, errors can happen when scores are input and a manual record serves to help rectify things later if necessary.
Tomorrow we have also loaded our “Nearest the pin” competition sponsored by Edwin Watts into the scoring app Instructions will be given on how to complete this prior to play. Tomorrow’s Nearest The Pin is number 8.
Following play we will present each player flight lowest scorer with a unique Claret Junior Tour winners medal. We do always try to keep these award recognition ceremonies as brief as we can as we know many of you have travelled some way to be at our event but we, and our players, do very much appreciate when fellow players and parents wait after play and take the time to attend and show your support to our medalists when it’s possible to do so.
