Good evening everyone

Thank you, players, for giving us a great day of junior golf at Lopez Legacy GC in The Villages!

Sitting here this evening and listening to the crazy storm outside it seems like we got Day 1 finished just in time!

There are so many great stories from today. From novice golfers taking their very first steps into junior tournament golf to returning players anxious to improve and of course at the other end of the spectrum we have our top players competing for the prizes that will be handed out tomorrow afternoon.

At the top of the overall leaderboard at this halfway stage it The Villages High School Trace Kirkland (73) who sits top 4 clear of Delaney Sillaway (77) and tucked in just two back of Delaney is our top medalist for 2022 Riley Sillaway (79). A 4 shot lead is substantial however we KNOW all 3 of these players well and we, and they, all know this one still has a long way to go before we can present anyone with the title of The Lopez Legacy Junior Champion…its going to be exciting!

As well as our leaders we would like to say well done to you all, we are extremely fortunate to be hosting these events with great junior players, supportive and respectful families and great friends. THIS Is what golf is all about!

Tomorrow we will do it all again! The tee times are listed below.
