Good afternoon everyone
We are very much looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at Nancy Lopez Legacy GC in The Villages. Venue information and directions are found by clicking HERE
Below this message you will find individual tee times, pairings, yardages and flight info for tomorrow’s competition. We will commence play at 11.56 AM on hole number 1 of Ashley Meadows Course. Our back 9 will see us turning for home at Torri Pines. Directions to each will be given on the first tee tomorrow before play.
It is extremely important that all players or parent check in on arrival with Fiona at our Golfer Registration Desk which will be situated by the putting green area. Check in will open at 10am. If any tee time changes are necessary we will communicate these to you at that point. Range balls for warm up and practice information will also be issued to players at check-in.
It’s also EXTREMELY important to check that we have the correct phone number on file in the event that we need to contact you with a weather text message or relay important info while you are out on the course. If your number is NOT the one you used on the Player Registration Form for this event please advise Fiona.
Golf cart rentals, for those who require them, can be obtained via the ProShop on arrival. Rentals are $20 plus tax. Please advise the staff in the ProShop that you are playing in our tournament if you wish to rent a cart. At the end of each day of play please empty and return your cart to the cart staff as quickly as possible.
If you prefer to walk, with trolley or carrybag you are always able to do so at all of our tournaments. If you do choose this option please remember that it is extremely important every player maintains a good pace of play.
Please note caddies are also permitted at our tour events. Caddies MUST observe USGA caddie rules and pace of play MUST be observed. If your group falls behind play, we will request you play “Ready Golf” in order to keep pace with the group in front. Electronic devices to assist with yardages are also acceptable for use at this competition.
This 36 hole competition will be ranked by GJGR. (Global Junior Golf Rankings) and JGS (Junior Golf Scoreboard) and if you are only playing with us for one of the days this weekend your scoring will be ranked by GJGR only.
All scoring for our tournaments will only be accepted by inputting scores into our dedicated online scoring app, which can be downloaded from your online app store, by searching for iWanamaker golf. You will find that tomorrows player tee times, as shown below, will be loaded in the app already.
While we no longer require that players complete and then swap paper scorecards, we do strongly encourage that you keep a paper scorecard record which can be used as a backup to refer to should any discrepancies or errors be made in the app. If using the scoring app for the first time, you will first have to register in the iWanamaker app USING THE PLAYERS NAME. You can then search for tomorrow’s competition in the Find an Event area where you will find the full list of players and tee times.
Please note that when searching in your phone’s app store for the correct iWanamaker app please look for, and then download, the one that looks like this:
Scoring via the app is a simple process but if you do need any assistance with it please ask prior to play and we will be happy to help. Players, please bear in mind that YOUR score on each hole is ultimately YOUR responsibility even if you are not the person within your group who is inputting it to the app. We always suggest that you double check it has been entered correctly before you finalize it on 18. If you do notice ANY discrepancy, please bring it to our attention immediately.
As always, as an additional exciting and fun element, we will also be operating a nearest-the-pin competition tomorrow and on sunday, sponsored by Edwin Watts Golf, for all players, with a $25 gift card prize up for grabs for the player who hits closest to the pin. Tomorrow this competition will take place on hole number 4.
Please note that our nearest the pin competition will also be recorded into the iWanamaker app. and when you get to the relevant hole the scoring app will identify it with a banner on the scoring page that looks like this:
Clicking on the banner and then on the contest description will bring up only your playing group. Whoever is closest to the hole in your group should measure the distance, using the tape measure provided, have the distance verified by a playing partner and log it in the app at the same time as you are logging your score(s) for the hole.
Please make your way to the 1st tee 10 minutes before play where we will provide a short briefing to players on any local rules that may apply to this competition. See also local rules we have added in the app.
Weather text service: Please rest assured player safety is always our priority and if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text. Please consult the forecast prior to play and ensure you are prepared, as much as possible, for fast-changing weather conditions. Tomorrow afternoon current forecast shows the possibility of some rain and it is forecast to be HOT so please bring food and plenty of water and stay hydrated PLEASE!
Following play tomorrow we will ask you to confirm scores are accurate and we will then compile scores for day one. There will be NO awards presentation so you are free to depart immediately following play. We will notify you all by email of Sunday pairings and tee times on Saturday evening.
On Sunday we will have a brief awards presentation ceremony following play. We always try to conduct these presentations as quickly as we can to ensure you are not waiting around too much but we, and our players, do always appreciate your sportsmanship and support by asking that you attend if you possibly can.
Claret Junior Tour Merchandise.
Tomorrow we will have available for order a small selection of branded items. If any parent, player or spectator wishes to purchase any item please see Fiona. We are very proud of the fact that we offer junior golf tournament events at great venues and at great value for money when compared with many other junior tours in Florida. This is extremely important to us, and your support helps us to continue doing so. Any profits made from merchandise purchased will always remain within our junior tour operation.
Please note that during 2022 season should any player wish to supply their own golf top(s) or hat to us we can have this embroidered with a Claret Junior Tour Logo for a cost of $15. The process takes only a few days.
If you have any questions about tomorrow and you do need to contact us urgently, please don’t hesitate to call or text me (Keith) on 716-436-8691.
We are looking forward to another great weekend of Junior Golf at Lopez Legacy GC in The Villages.
See you all there.
** Please Note if any player wishes to play from a longer tee box than that allocated, please advise a member of staff prior to play tomorrow. We will be happy to help with any requests. **
