Tournament 14 of our 2022 season and this time we teed it up once again at Orange Lake in Kissimmee.
As a sign of respect for Memorial Day we issued all of our junior players with US Flag pin badges to carry with them or to wear on their golf shirts. We are blessed indeed to be hosting such a great group of young people and supportive families who regularly attend our events. Thank you all for the respect you showed the occasion, the golf course and each other.
It’s fair to say that based on the extreme temperatures, humidity and lack of wind the hot season has now arrived with us! It’s not the most comfortable of conditions to show your best form and when combined with greens that were definitely a bit more disappointing than we usually expect at this venue you could be forgiven for thinking we were heading for high scores from most, while there were one or two disappointments though most handled the heat, and those greens pretty well and overall we watched some wonderful junior golf.
Thank you as always to our sponsors. Without you we could not host the events we do. We appreciate your support of what we do and our golfing kids!
Yesterday we had another opportunity to welcome back three of our Alumni Players, Caleb Lynady (Lake Mary), Nick Zarillo (Mike Bender Academy) and Cameron Ennis (Orlando). It’s always great to catch up with these ex-junior golfers and find out how things are with each of them, one thing is for sure though, they are ALL still playing regularly and playing well.
In addition we also welcomed three new players to the Claret Junior Tour. Welcome to Andrew Milajecki (The Geneva School) William Watts (Longwood) and Andrew McGarvey (Trinity Christian Academy) who made their CJT debut yesterday. Welcome and well done to you all, we hope you enjoyed the competition and had fun!
Meet our low scoring medalists below from yesterday’s tournament and note those scores too, what a great group of battling young players we saw yesterday, well done everyone. We’d like to also give a mention a couple of players who achieved something a little special in their rounds at the Reserve. The first of them, James Buckelew(12) for making an Eagle 2 at hole number one, well done James on that, and for producing another battling performance out there, even when things get tough we can always rely on you to keep battling and giving 100% all the way until that last putt drops!
We’d also like to mention 13 year old Holt Rue (Oviedo) who played his best junior tournament round yesterday carding an impressive 39-39-78. Holt played so much good golf yesterday and he’s now really beginning to show great consistency, strong character and confidence…great job Holt!
