Good afternoon, everyone.

Thank you for your player entry for our Sunday November 6th. tournaments taking place at the renowned and spectacular Mission Inn Resort. Mission Inn is once again this year’s host venue for the FHSAA State Championships and if you are already a qualified player for this event, and playing with us on Sunday, we wish to pass on our congratulations for making it to such a prestigious event. We wish you all the very best of luck and hope that, in addition to enjoying our own tournament, that you are able to soak in as much course knowledge as you can in preparation for the States Championship.

First tee time Sunday for our El Campeon (Boys) will be 11.40 am and our Las Colinas (Girls) will tee off from 12.17 pm. Groups will depart at 8-minute intervals. We ask that all players make their way to the tee at least 10 minutes before play for player introductions and a short local rule briefing.

Each tournament is an 18-hole stroke play event ranked by GJGR.

On arrival at Mission Inn please check in with Fiona at our Claret Tour Registration Tent which is situated alongside the cart rental station. Registration will open at 9.00 am. Fiona will confirm your tee time and on course contact info and then direct you to your rental cart. A cart has been included in the entry cost of the event for each player. Please do NOT remove your named cart until advised and only AFTER you have checked in. Please be careful to take your own named cart.

Additional carts MAY  be available for spectators but cannot be guaranteed. We have been advised that the venue is extremely busy at this time and we therefore cannot guarantee them. As each paying player is already getting a cart included we hope you can understand why this may be the case at some busy venues. Our advice to spectators is to immediately enquire at the ProShop on arrival if you need one. Please note that players carts must take priority and spectators will be issued with carts only once players have received theirs. If your player does not require the use of his/her cart it can of course be used by an accompanying family member/spectator.

It is essential that we have a contact number for every player out on the course for safety reasons and in the event we need to message you in case of emergency or to advise of any incoming weather issues that may force you to take temporary shelter. The weather right now can be a little unpredictable so please be prepared for it. Bringing wet weather gear/umbrellas is always a good idea just in case!

We will score Sunday’s event using the iWanamaker golf online scoring app. If you are attending your first CJT event, please download the app by searching for iWanamaker golf and register using your player’s name if using for the first time. You will be able to then search for the event and you will see that all players are already loaded in tee time format. The app is very easy to use and if you do need any assistance please speak with a member of staff in advance of play. When searching for the app please note it looks like this: PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH THE FHSAA APP. THEY ARE DIFFERENT!

The app is a safe way to score competitions without the need for handling and swapping paper scorecards between players. It may already be familiar to many of you as the same app, with different branding, created by iWanamaker is what some of you already use for FHSAA High School competitions. We do strongly suggest that you still keep/complete a card for your own use/records. The paper card is useful to do a double check of scores if any discrepancies are found in the app following play but ONLY the scores you enter into the app and verified by player and scorer prior to final submission will be accepted.

Important note regarding app reporting/scoring:

Your score is YOUR responsibility. If another member of the group, you are playing with agrees to submit everyone’s scores into the app it is still YOUR responsibility to check these scores are input correctly with him/her BEFORE they are finally submitted. Often the fastest way to check is if you have your own copy kept on a paper scorecard as a back-up.

Please note that we set player yardages/tee boxes for our own tournaments based on player age and the suggested yardage guidelines follow the general guidance of the USGA and R&A. We cannot guarantee these yardages will exactly match those set by the FHSAA committee for their event however we do provide ALL players regardless of age the option of playing a longer yardage if they prefer to do so. Please make us aware of this request prior to beginning play and we will amend the tee box shown against your name within our app.

Nearest The Pin. We will have additional gift card prizes available from Edwin Watts Golf for the player closest to the pin on each course on Sunday. The measurement should also be logged into the iWanamaker scoring app and the hole used for each course will be advised prior to play.

All players will be grouped into age-based player flights and a CJT winner’s medal will be presented to the lowest scoring player in each flight. When necessary and in the event of a tied score in any player flight extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner. The number of holes will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached if players are still tied the winning medalist will be decided by a chip-off at an agreed green side area.

As each flight group finishes, we will have a brief medal presentation by the main scoreboard area. Please show good golf etiquette and support the medal winners at the presentation of the flight you are competing in if you are able to stay and do so. We always plan on doing these awards outdoor (weather permitting) by the large Mission Inn Scoreboard.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you all to these special tournament events on Sunday.

The tee times and further info are listed below. Good luck to all of our players and we hope you enjoy the Mission Inn experience with The Claret Junior Tour.
