Good evening everyone.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to our 1st 36-Hole Major Event of 2021 at Eagle Ridge GC in Summerfield on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of May 2021, The Highlander Masters.

We are delighted to announce we have a big field and a very strong group of players in all age groups.

Below this message you will find individual tee times, pairings, yardages and flight info for (Day 1) Saturday’s competition. We will commence play at 1.00pm on number 1 of The Heritage Course and our back 9 will be on The Champions Course. Sunday’s final round will commence at 1.00pm and start on Memorial, fittingly, it will finish on the Masters Course.

It is important that every player checks in on arrival on both days with Fiona at our Golfer Registration Desk which will be (weather permitting) located in our gazebo opposite the main putting green. We need to know you have arrived with us and if any tee time changes are necessary we will communicate these to you at that stage. Range tokens will be issued to players from there. It’s also important to check we have the correct phone number on file for you in the event that we need to contact you while you are on the course.

Carts are available to rent via the ProShop for players with a valid drivers license or parents accompanying younger players. Cost is $20 plus tax. Please note at all HJT competitions we are happy for players to use carts either by driving themselves(with a valid drivers license) OR if with a parent or guardian alongside them. If you prefer to walk the course and not use a cart that’s perfectly acceptable too but please ensure you are always mindful of pace of play and keep up at all times with the group ahead of you.

Please note caddies are also allowed at all HJT events. Caddies must comply with USGA caddie rules and pace of play MUST be observed at all times. If your group falls behind play we will request you play “Ready Golf” in order to keep pace with the group in front. Electronic devices to assist with yardages are acceptable for use at this competition.

This competition will be ranked by both JGS. (Junior Golf Scoreboard) and GJGR. (Global Junior Golf Rankings) and scoring will only be accepted by inputting scores into our dedicated online scoring app which can be downloaded from your online app store by searching for HJT golf. You will find that the player tee times as shown below are loaded already.

Please note that in line with our current rules of play we are happy to accept any requests from players, parents or relevant coaches to compete from a longer yardage than those stated below. As a Junior Tour we believe strongly in individual player development and ensuring our competitions remain challenging to ALL players regardless of age and ability. We set all player yardages on available USGA suggested yardages by player age. Should you wish to play a longer yardage please make this request to us before play begins. NO changes can be made once play begins and under no circumstances will we accept requests to play a shorter yardage than that allocated.

Player scoring will ONLY be accepted via the online app. We no longer swap paper scorecards between players for safety reasons but we will ask you to keep your own paper scorecard record which we will use as a back up record should any discrepancies or errors be made in the app. If using the scoring app for the first time, and once you have downloaded the app and first registered, you can search for this competition in the events area where you will find the full list of players and tee times are already pre-loaded. Scoring via the app is a simple process but if you do need any assistance with it please ask prior to play and we will be happy to help.

Please make your way to the 1st tee of The Heritage Course at least 10 minutes before play where we will provide a short briefing to players on any local rules that may apply to this competition. Please be aware that Eagle Ridge on-course water coolers are still not in use so please bring water with you and ensure you keep hydrated at all times.

Weather text service: Please rest assured player safety is always our priority and if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse we will immediately advise you by text.

Prizes and HJT Merchandise

An exclusive Highlander Masters medal will be presented to the lowest scorer in each player flight after 36 holes are complete. In addition the individual player, regardless of age, with the overall lowest score of the field after 36 holes will receive the Highlander Masters Glass Trophy Award. We will arrange to have the winning player’s name mounted onto the trophy plaque as soon as possible following the event.

We will also be operating a nearest-the-pin competition for all players on both days of competition play with a great prize for the winner. We will advise which par-3 hole this applies to prior to play each day.

Each player attending this tournament is receiving free HJT branded merchandise from us as a thank you for your support and participation in our events. We are expecting to have the majority of players merchandise available on day 1 although tournament entries received by us after Friday 23rd May not arrive by then. Please collect your merchandise from Fiona at Registration desk on Saturday before play.

Following play on Saturday please ensure you briefly visit the Player Registration Area to verify your day 1 scores are correct before leaving for home. A scoring update and Sunday’s tee times will be emailed to you on Saturday evening.

If you have any questions and need to contact us urgently please don’t hesitate to call or text me on 716-436-8691 or  Mark on 352 259 0436.
