Good evening everyone and thank you to all of our junior golfers for your efforts on Day 1 of The Claret Jug Championship Tournament at Glenview Champions GC in The Villages. So far its all to play for and every age-based player flight is still up for grabs. The race for the overall tournament top spot and the chance to win The Claret Jug is closely contested too with our top 5 players of Clipper Salmon (71), Riley Sillaway (71), Gordon Goetz (73), Will Somers and Delaney Sillaway all currently within only a few strokes of each other…its going to be a REALLY exciting day tomorrow!

Elsewhere,all players are chasing personal targets of their own after Day 1. Good luck to you all tomorrow!

Player registration will open again tomorrow at 9.45am. Please note that ALL players must check in tomorrow before play. Tee times will begin at 11.45am. The course rotation is reversed from today so tomorrow we will start on Fox Run followed by Stirrup Cup.

Please note that the forecast for tomorrow afternoon shows a strong possibility of rain. We have been watching this weather front as it develops for several days and we hope we can avoid stoppages in play as any stoppage, combined with the loss of daylight around 5.45pm would likely affect the number of holes we could realistically expect to play. I am sure everyone understands that there is little we can do in such circumstances other than hope and pray the weather experts have got it wrong! Please rest assured we are working on possible contingency plans that will hopefully allow us to conclude this event in a fair and sensible manner if we have to. With the risk of wet conditions in mind please do come prepared with umbrellas and rain gear.

Following play tomorrow we will begin our prizegiving and awards ceremony in the registration foyer area. Assuming we are not weather delayed, we would anticipate starting around 5.30pm. (This time is flexible if we are weather affected) We have a number of awards to present for the Claret Jug Championship Tournament and immediately following this we will present our Player of The Year Award and a few additional player awards. Please note that we will be presenting to a number of you and we are yet to announce who you are, if you are able to attend we, and all of the players appreciate your support in doing so.  We do also understand that everyone, including us, wants to get home as soon as possible and we will get this ceremony underway as quickly as possible and get the awards presented to allow you to head for home at a reasonable time!
