Thank you for your player entry for this weekend’s 36-Hole Challenge Tournament taking place at the renowned Mission Inn Resort in Howey in the Hills. Mission Inn is Florida’s most historic venue and hosts numerous Professional and Amateur tournament events each year. It is also, for the 15th year running, this year’s host venue for the FHSAA (Florida High School) State Championships and if you are a High School golfer, we do hope that you may get to return here in November to represent your school as a qualified player!

Tomorrow, (Saturday March 21st) we will play the El Campeon Course. First tee time will be 11.24 AM. On Sunday our final round will be played on the Las Colinas Course and tee times will begin at 11.30AM. This tournament is a 36-hole stroke play event which will be Nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard, Junior Golf Hub and  iWanamaker Rankings. Please note ALL PLAYERS must register on arrival on BOTH DAYS at the Player Registration Area which will be located by the cart staging area. It will be signposted. Registration, and the practice/warm up facilities will be open from 10.00 AM. When you check in you will be issued with tournament rules information and scoring procedure information. We will also request a contact number where you can be reached during tournament play. We will contact you on the number provided, in the event that you require a ruling, or if it becomes necessary to halt play due to weather conditions. As you know in Florida at this time of year the weather can be unpredictable so please check the forecast before you arrive and be as prepared as you possibly can. Please be assured that player safety is always our priority and, if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments, to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text and sound one long blast of the air horn to stop play. Should this be necessary please observe this safety request immediately. A failure by any player to stop play when advised to do so will result in immediate disqualification from this tournament.

IMPORTANT SCORING INFORMATION: It is a requirement at ALL of our tournaments that official tournament scoring is recorded by you using the CJGT online scoring app. If you are attending your first CJT event you MUST download the app by searching for CJGT in your app store. You will be required to submit a one-time only registration and for this you will need an email address. When doing so please ensure you register as a junior golfer and in player’s name. Please do not register as a parent or spectator as this will lock you out of the ability to score and take you to a payment page for viewing scores only. Only players registered correctly as junior golfers have full FREE access to the scoring app and it is therefore extremely important that you register as a player. Please note that failure to download the app and register correctly as a junior player will mean your tournament score WILL NOT be counted in this tournament. No exceptions will be made to this rule. Any questions or issues you may have with regard to registering in the CJGT app should be notified to us immediately in advance and not on day of tournament. Once registered you can then search for the tournament which has already been populated with players names, pairings and tee times. When checking your tee times it is important that you check the app is showing your player name and tee time correctly and that the HOME page of the app (example shown below) gives you access to the SCORE ROUND feature. The example below is how it should look. IMPORTANT If you cannot see the “Score Round” feature displayed you are not yet registered correctly and you should advise us immediately.  If you have not advised us you have an issue and you arrive at the tournament unable to access the scoring app your player score will not be counted.. It is therefore extremely important that you contact us in advance to assist if you are experiencing any issues with the CJGT app. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to resolve app issues on the day of tournament so please contact us in advance of that date! 

*Players who have played with us previously, and used the CJGT app, are advised to always check their access to the app before arriving at the venue. Contact us if you need assistance.

Once you have the app, and you are registered correctly, you can then search for the tournament. You will find that all of the tee times shown below are now loaded and live on the CJGT app. Sunday pairings, which will be made based on scoring from Day 1, will be loaded on Saturday evening following conclusion of Day 1 play and an email sent to you when they are ready to view.

GOLF CARTS: A rental cart has been included in the entry fee cost for every player. Only players aged 16 and over, with a driver’s license can drive the cart. Younger players and those without a license can be driven by a parent or accompanying adult. Under no circumstances should you take a cart from the staging area until after check in and only once advised to do so. Please then ensure you take your own named cart.

IMPORTANT NOTE: SPECTATOR GOLF CARTS. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL RENTAL CARTS AVAILABLE FOR SPECTATORS AT THIS TOURNAMENT.ACCOMPANYING PARENTS CAN RIDE WITH PLAYER DURING THIS TOURNAMENT OR WALK TO SPECTATE. 

CADDIES: Please note caddies are permitted only for players aged 15 or less. Caddies for aged 16+ players are not permissible at any of our tournaments. Caddies must observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed.

TOURNAMENT AWARDS: All tournament awards will be presented after play is complete on Sunday. All players have been grouped into age-based player flights and a CJGT winner’s medal and plaque recognition award will be presented to the lowest scoring player in each flight group only. In addition we may also make up player award(s), to qualifying players only, of an FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Award for use in your choice of an FJT Tournament in the next 12 months. Please read our important T&C’s and the necessary requirements to be a qualifying player for FJT STEP EXEMPTION AWARDS by clicking HERE   (Section 8) Please note that FJT Awards are only available to current Annual Membership players of Claret Junior Tour prior to tournament beginning. Check if you are a current annual membership player below in the tee times listed. If you wish to become an Annual Member player for the next 365 days you must do so before this tournament begins or wait until it is completed. No Annual Memberships can be accepted once play begins. For this 36 Hole Tournament an FJT EXEMPTION Award will be issued to the lowest scoring male player in our 16/18 group, who is a current annual membership player, and our lowest scoring male player aged 13/15, who is a current annual membership player. To be eligible to receive this additional prize a player’s total score must be no more than par+16 or less after 36 holes are complete. Following 36 holes of play and, in the event of a tied score in any player flight, extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner. The number of holes will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached players are still tied the play off will be decided on the putting green area.
