Thank you for your player entry for this coming weekend’s 36-Hole High School Preview Challenge Tournament taking place at the renowned Mission Inn Resort in Howey in the Hills. Mission Inn is Florida’s most historic venue and hosts numerous Professional and Amateur tournament events each year. It is also, for the 14th year running, this year’s host venue for the FHSAA (Florida High School) State Championships and if you are a High School golfer, we hope you may even be returning here again this month to represent your school as a qualified player!

We host this tournament each year, just a few days before FHSAA States begin for a number of reasons, the first being that some players in our field this weekend may be participating at States in the coming days, if you are, congratulations on getting there!  The other key reason is to assist all players in their development by experiencing these two well designed, and hugely challenging, golf courses under tournament conditions. We hope that, whatever your reason was for choosing this one, you will ALL benefit from this tournament experience with us!

On arrival please check in at our registration area. Do not remove your rental cart from the staging area until after check in.  On our first day of play tomorrow (Saturday Nov.8th) we will play the Las Colinas Course. First tee time will be 11.30 AM. Please make your way to the first tee at least 10 minutes before play for a local rule briefing. On Sunday our final round will be played on the El Campeon Course and tee times once again will begin at 11.30AM. This tournament is a 36-hole stroke play event which will be Nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard, Junior Golf Hub and  iWanamaker Rankings. GOLF CARTS: On tournament days a rental cart has been included in the entry fee cost for every player and this should be used. We do not wish to have any players walking at this tournament. Players aged 16 and over with a drivers licence can drive the cart. Younger players and those without a licence can be driven by a parent or accompanying adult. IMPORTANT NOTE: A small number of additional rental carts MAY be available for spectators on a first come basis however these cannot be guaranteed by us.

CADDIES: Please note caddies are permitted at our tour events only for players aged 15 or less. Caddies for aged 16+ players are not permissible at any of our tournaments. Caddies must observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed.

SCORING: It is a requirement of entry at our tournaments that ALL official tournament scoring is recorded by you using the CJGT online scoring app. If you are attending your first CJT event, you must download the app by searching for CJGT in your app store. You will be required to submit a one-time only simple registration and for this you will need an email address. When doing so please ensure you register as a junior golfer and in player’s name. Please do not register as a parent or spectator as this will lock you out of the ability to score and take you to a payment page for viewing scores only. Only players registered correctly as junior golfers have full FREE access to the scoring app and it is therefore extremely important that you register as a player. Please note that failure to download the app and register correctly as a junior player will mean your tournament score cannot be counted in this tournament. Any questions or issues registering in the CJGT should be notified to us in advance and not on day of tournament.

Once you have the app, and you are registered correctly, you can then search for the tournament. All official scoring for this tournament must be input into the app on a hole-by-hole basis. Tomorrow’s player tee times are now loaded in the CJGT app and available to view. Sunday pairings will be loaded on Saturday evening following conclusion of Day 1 play and an email sent to you when loaded.

As an additional exciting and fun element, we will also be operating a nearest-the-pin competition tomorrow and on Sunday, sponsored by PGA Tour Superstore, for all players, with a $25 gift card prize up for grabs each day for the player who hits closest to the pin. We will provide more information to you on the tee.

WEATHER SAFETY PROCEDURE: Please be assured player safety is always our priority and, if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments to stop play, shelter on course or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text message and by one long blast of air horn. Please consult the forecast prior to play and ensure you are prepared, as much as possible, for fast-changing weather conditions. ALWAYS bring plenty of water and snacks and stay hydrated at all times.

PLAYER AWARDS SUMMARY: On Sunday following play we will have a brief awards presentation ceremony. We always try to conduct these presentations as quickly as we can to ensure you are not waiting around too much. If you can attend, we do always appreciate your sportsmanship and support of your fellow players. A Claret Tour Award will be made to each of our lowest scoring Flight Winners. We will also award an FJT STEP Exemption Award to the player flight winner in each of the following groups: Girls-(13 and over), Boys (13/15) and Boys 16+.  Please note that some conditions do apply to the award of FSGA/STEP Exemption Awards, see below.

FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Awards: Only players holding current Annual Membership player status of The Claret Tour, PRIOR to the beginning of this tournament, and current 2025 Scholarship players will be eligible to receive FJT Step Exemption Awards. These awards will only be made if the winning player scores an average +8 score against par or less for each 18 holes played in the tournament. Please note that STEP Exemptions will be limited to no more than two awards per individual player in each 3-month period of 2025 beginning in quarter 1.
