Good morning tournament golfers…we are pleased that you are joining us our upcoming nationally ranked junior tournament at Harbor Hills Country Club this weekend (Saturday and Sunday June 6-7). Please find below player information including tee times, pairings and player flight information. The CJGT scoring app has also now been loaded with your tee times. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

On arrival each day ALL players must check in at our Golfer Registration Desk. Registration will be open from 8.30 AM each day. At registration we will confirm your tee time and check that the contact info we have for you is correct. It’s important that we have your updated contact number in case it becomes necessary to contact you while on the golf course during this competition. At registration we will also issue each player with a rules sheet for this tournament. Your golf cart, which is included, will be issued to you after you check in. Carts will be issued in order of tee time, earliest first. 

CART USE ON TOURNAMENT DAYS.

At this tournament players are permitted to use rental carts. A cart has been included in tournament cost and will be allocated to you on arrival at tournament AFTER you check in. Do NOT take a cart until advised to do so. We have been informed by the venue that every golfer who wishes to use one WILL be allocated a cart. Parents can ride with player if you wish to do so and carts can only be driven by players 16 and above who MUST be in possession of a valid license. Players 16 and above can share cart with another player in their tee time group if they wish to do so. If cart is being used by younger players or player with no drivers license it can be driven by a parent or coach. The use of carts is NOT a requirement and players do still have the option of walking at this tournament if they prefer to do so. It is unlikely that there will be additional spectator carts available however if any become available on the day they will only be made available to spectators AFTER all players have been allocated their carts. 

CADDIES

Please note caddies are only permitted at our tour events for players aged 15 or younger. Caddies for aged 16+ players are not permissible at any of our tournaments. Caddies must observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed. If you are planning on caddying for your junior player, please remember your primary function is to be encouraging and supportive, offer practical course information and advice. Under no circumstances will player coaching be permitted. Coaching is generally defined as providing instruction and analysis on a player’s game/skills. Players should immediately report any issues to tournament staff.

TOURNAMENT SCORING

Official player scoring at ALL Claret tournaments is only accepted when input by each player into our dedicated online scoring app following the conclusion of each hole. If you have not done so already, please download the app named CJGT from your app store to your phone in advance of this tournament and ensure you have registered correctly. If downloading for the first time you must complete a one-time only player registration. Please note you are registering a JUNIOR GOLFER. If you are a parent registering on behalf of your junior golfer, please click on the correct option box when asked if you are a JUNIOR GOLFER or PARENT/SPECTATOR. Incorrectly registering your player will lock him/her out of tournament scoring. The app looks like the example below.

Any registered player who arrives to tournament who has not registered in the CJGT app in advance, and who has not advised us of any issue in doing so, will NOT have their tournament score counted. When you receive player tee times, ALL players should open the app and ensure you have scoring access and your details are displayed correctly ie. Name is spelt correctly etc. and advise if any changes are necessary. Following play on Saturday we will require each player to confirm and agree the scores loaded into CJGT app are correct before you depart for home. On Saturday evening we will email you player tee times and full information for the final round of play on Sunday.

Please note that this app is supplied by Iwanamaker and you may already be familiar with them if you play High School golf. If you already have a login saved for High School you can use same information to register and log in to our CJGT app. 

It is important that you check the app is showing your player name and tee time correctly and that the HOME page of the app gives you access to scoring. The example below is how it will look. If you cannot see the “Score Round” feature displayed you will NOT be able to score using the app and your tournament score CANNOT be included. It is therefore extremely important that you contact us immediately to assist. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to resolve any issues on the day of tournament so please contact us in advance of that date! Most issues result in incorrect registration. If you don’t see the “Score Round” listed on the home page and you have registered as a Junior Golfer first check your log in details and email used are correct before contacting us.

WEATHER

Weather Watch Texts/ Notifications. At check in we will confirm we have the correct on course contact number for you. The weather at this time is unpredictable and player safety is our number one priority. Should it be necessary to stop play at any stage we will notify you by text AND blast one long warning note by airhorn. Please mark your ball position and take immediate shelter. We will monitor the weather and text further instructions as soon as we can. Please be prepared for fast changing weather with rain gear, umbrellas, water, energy drinks and snacks. We will have bottled water available, for players only, on the 1st and 10th tee.

NEAREST THE PIN

As usual on Saturday, and on Sunday, we will be adding a touch of additional excitement by operating a nearest-the-pin competition for all players. On this occasion our nearest the pin will be sponsored by Sun Blessed Skin who will provide a prize for our winner each day. We will advise which par-3 hole this applies to prior to play on each day. Recording a measurement for this contest will be done by adding your name to the provided sheet by the green being used for the competition. 

SUNDAY AWARDS

On Sunday afternoon, following the final round of play, we will verify and record scores and conduct presentation awards. We always plan to conduct these presentations as quickly as we can to ensure you are not waiting around too much but we, and our players, do always appreciate your sportsmanship and support by attending if you can. Please note that in addition to flight winner medal and prize awards, for each lowest scoring player flight winner, we will also be awarding FJT Step Exemption Awards. The following conditions apply to FJT Awards.

*FJT STEP Exemption Awards are only available to players aged 13 and above. To receive these additional awards player must be a flight winner at this tournament, a current Claret Tour Annual Membership Player, prior to the tournament beginning, and your player score achieved must be no higher than an average of +8 or less for each 18 holes played. Eg. A total score of +16 or less after 36 holes are complete. Your Flight Group size must consist of 6 players or more to receive an FJT Step Award.
