Good morning and thank you for your player entry for this weekend’s 36-Hole Summer Challenge Tournament at Stoneybrook West GC. Venue Information and Directions can be found by clicking HERE

Below this message you will find individual player tee times, pairings, yardages and player flight/group info for Day 1 of this competition. Day 2 tee times will be emailed to you on Saturday evening and pairings will be revised based on scores achieved after the first day of play. Our first tee time on Saturday, and on Sunday, will be 10.30 am and all play will start on Hole 1. It’s extremely important that ALL players are at the tee and ready to play 10 minutes before your tee time for player introductions and a short local rule briefing. This tournament is a 36-hole stroke play event which will be ranked by iWanamaker rankings, Junior Golf Scoreboard and Junior Golf Hub. REGISTRATION: On arrival please check in with Fiona at our Claret Tour Registration Area which is situated alongside the practice area. Registration will be open from 9.00 am. Fiona will confirm your tee time and on course contact info. It is essential that we have a contact number for every player out on the course for safety reasons and in the event, we need to message you in case of emergency or to advise of any incoming weather issues that may force you to stop play and take temporary shelter. The weather at this time of the year can be unpredictable as you know so please check conditions before leaving home and be prepared for it as much as possible. Please be assured player safety is always our top priority and, if it becomes necessary at any of our tournaments, to shelter in place or return to the clubhouse, we will immediately advise you by text and sound one long blast of the air horn to stop play. Should this be necessary please observe this safety request immediately. A failure for any member to stop play when advised to do so will result in disqualification from this tournament.

We will have a limited supply of water available, for our competing players only, on the 1st tee. It is advisable to ensure you have with you an additional supply of water, energy drinks and snacks.

GOLF CARTS: A rental cart has been included for each player. Please check in with us first and do NOT load up or remove a cart until AFTER you have checked in and been given your cart key by Fiona as we may be required to issue carts in tee time order. Once ALL players have their carts there MAY be a small number of additional carts for spectators however these cannot be guaranteed. If the venue have them the spectator cart rate is $35 plus tax. Junior Players who wish to drive a golf cart MUST be in possession of a valid Driver’s License to do so. Younger players can be driven by a parent/coach or adult caddie.

CADDIES: Please note caddies are only permitted at our tour events for players up to age 15. Caddies for aged 16+ players are not permissible at any of our tournaments. Caddies must observe USGA caddie rules at all times and pace of play MUST be observed. Parents are permitted to ride alongside 16+ players, strictly NO coaching permitted!

A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ON PLAYER SCORING: It is a requirement that ALL players official tournament scoring is recorded by you using the CJGT online scoring app. If you are attending your first CJGT event you MUST download the app by searching for CJGT in your app store and then register as a junior golfer and in player’s name. Please do not register as a parent or spectator as this will lock you out of the ability to score and take you to a payment page for viewing scores only. Only players registered correctly have full FREE access to the scoring app and it is therefore extremely important that you register as a player. Once you have the app, and you are registered correctly, you can then search for the tournament. All official scoring for this tournament must be input into the app on a hole-by-hole basis. If you do NOT register or have the app prepared and ready on your phone your score(s) will NOT be counted for this tournament. All players playing should test their CJGT App login procedure before arrival at the venue, we strongly advise you to do so TODAY and contact us immediately if you have any issues.

We will also request that you keep and complete a paper scorecard. The paper card is useful as a backup only and to do a double check of scores if any discrepancies are found in the app however ONLY the scores you enter into the app, verified as accurate, by player and scorer will be accepted. Following Day 1 play we require EVERY player to confirm that they agree with the score showing in the CJGT app BEFORE you leave the venue. Any player who leaves the venue before providing agreement of the accuracy of his/her score will be withdrawn from further participation in this tournament.

Please remember the accuracy of your score is always YOUR responsibility. If another member of the group, you are playing with agrees to submit everyone’s scores into the app it is still YOUR responsibility to check these scores are input correctly with him/her BEFORE they are finally submitted at the end of play. When you open the app you will see that all players are already loaded in tee time format. The app is easy to use however, if you do need any assistance, please reach out to us in advance of play and, ideally NOT on the day of play, as iWanamaker, who provide the app and support, cannot always guarantee to resolve issues on weekend tournament days. NEAREST the PIN: As an additional fun and competitive element at our tournaments we offer a Nearest the Pin Competition open to all players. We will offer a gift card prize from our sponsor, Edwin Watts Golf, for the player closest to the pin on Saturday and again on Sunday. We will provide a marker stake alongside the green. If you are close, check the sheet on the stake for earlier players measurements. If you think you are closer measure the distance from middle of the hole to the center of your ball using the tape provided. Always measure with the help of at least one other player in your group. If your ball is closest write your name and measurement. The measurement should be in feet/inches. Tomorrow the hole used for the competition will be number 16.

AWARDS: All tournament awards will be presented on Sunday. All players have been grouped into age-based player flights and a CJGT winner’s medal and plaque award will be presented to the lowest scoring player in each flight group only. Awards will be made as each age-based flight finishes in order to get everyone heading for home as soon as we can following play.

In addition to flight winner medals, we also make special player award(s), to qualifying players only, of an FSGA/FJT STEP Exemption Award for use in your choice of an FJT Tournament in the next 12 months. IMPORTANT – Please note for this tournament we will have available a total of 3 FJT STEP Exemption Awards. 1 FJT EXEMPTION Award will be issued to our lowest scoring male player aged 16 and over,1 FJT EXEMPTION Award will be made to our lowest scoring male player aged 13/15 and 1 FJT EXEMPTION Award will be made to our lowest scoring female player aged 13/17.  To be eligible to receive these additional prizes players MUST hold current annual membership status of Claret Junior Tour PRIOR to the tournament commencing and player’s total score must meet the required level after 36 holes are complete. Following final day play and, in the event of a tied score in any player flight, extra hole play-offs will be used to decide a winner. The number of holes will be advised prior to the play-off commencing. If after the agreed number has been reached players are still tied the play off will be decided on the putting green area.
